Asus is going all out on the selfie craze with their new ZenFone Selfie, a 5.5 inch smartphone that spots an impressive dual 13MP camera set up, meaning that you have a 13MP front and rear camera.
The phone was announced today at the opening of Computex Taipei along the ZenWatch 2 and the new ZenPad series. The ZenFone Selfie borrows allot from the ZenFone 2 and it features the same general design with rear-mounted buttons which one might quickly confuse for an LG device.
It spots a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, a Snapdragon 615 processor (64-bit, octo-core), 2GB or 4GB of RAM, and 16, 32, or 64GB of expandable internal storage. For those who will opt for the 4GB RAM configuration, you will be impressed to see what the device can do with so much RAM as was seen on the Zenfone’s 2 impressive multitasking capability.
The dual 13MP cameras both on the front and back make use of dual-tone LED flashes, a setup you will rarely find on any other phone currently on the market. Like any selfie-centric phone worth its salt, the ZenFone Selfie packs a beautification mode that can “soften facial features, slim cheeks, and enhance skin tone to add vibrancy, all in real time.”
The phone comes available in cyan, pink, and white, and comes with an optional accessory called Swing, that can act like a kickstand or as an arm extender of sorts. Pricing information on the device has not yet been provided but in general the lack of proper marketing and sales of these devices in the Kenyan market leaves many disappointed.
