Tim Cook and all the folks at Apple as well as shareholders must be smiling from ear to ear right now as the tech company has had a pretty good quarter, so good that it actually broke a record making it the only company in the world to turn in such a huge profit in a single quarter.
We are talking a record $18.04 billion in profit for the fiscal Q1 of 2015. That translates to Trillions of Kenya shillings way beyond what our current annual national budget is. If you do the math right, this means that Apple makes about $8.3 million per hour in profit or roughly Ksh 750 million per hour – now those are figure any company would dream of.
Right before Apple broke the record in quarterly profits, Russia’s Gazprom (the largest natural gas extractor in the world) held the record at $16.2 billion in a quarter. It looks like whatever Apple has been upto seems to be working for them despite what the critics say.
